uvex’s first sustainable visor system

uvex safety presents the pronamic visor system – a product that not only offers maximum protection but is also a pioneer in terms of sustainability. The visor system features innovative materials and a unique attachment system that takes wearer comfort and safety to a new level.

The Franconian PPE manufacturer’s first sustainable visor system is called uvex pronamic and is compatible with the helmets in the series of the same name. It is available in several variants: with or without chin guard, as a half visor or as a visor for protection from arc flashs. The visor lens is 100% mass-balanced polycarbonate, while the visor holders are made of 85% recycled plastic from high-quality post-industrial and post-consumer materials, saving a total of over 50% in carbon emissions.

The anti-fog and scratch-resistant visor meets the requirements of the best optical quality class and guarantees permanently fog-free vision. Non-stick nanotechnology makes it easy to clean, with all the visor lenses also offering UV400 protection. The transparent peak offers excellent protection against particle ingress and ensures the visor fits perfectly to the helmet.

A useful feature of the uvex pronamic visor system is the unique click & pull system, which allows the visor to be easily detached and reattached as needed. In addition, the visor can be locked above the helmet shell when not required, while earmuffs can be attached if desired and folded back into a resting position when not in use. Everything thus fits closely to the helmet, which is perfectly balanced over the body’s centre of gravity, while also ensuring the neck musculature is not subjected to unnecessary strain – for excellent wearer comfort and maximum freedom of movement.

The visor system is suitable for areas of application 3 (liquids) and 9 (molten metal and hot solids), while the SLB 1 and SLB 2 visors for protection from arc flashs are certified according to GS-ET 29.

The uvex safety group will present the visor system, along with many other sustainable new products, at the A+A 2023 trade fair in Duesseldorf.
